How do I get a Tenways bike through Vapaus Bike Benefit?
First, check that your employer offers the Vapaus Bike Benefit. If they do, simply create an account on the Vapaus portal using your work email to get started. Once logged in, you can browse the full selection of bikes (including our selection of Tenways models) and pick your dream ride. Submit your order through the portal, and Vapaus will process it. Your new bike will be delivered fully assembled and ready to ride, usually within about a month, via Vapaus’ delivery network. Then it’s yours to enjoy! How much does it cost me, and do I really save money?
You’ll pay a fixed monthly fee from your salary for the duration of the lease (12–36 months – you choose the term). The cost depends on the bike’s price and your lease length, usually ranging from about €29 up to €200 per month. There’s no upfront payment, and all standard costs (such as insurance) are rolled into the monthly fee. This bike benefit is designed to be cost-smart: by choosing a bike from the Vapaus catalogue, you can save hundreds of euros compared to buying the same bike directly from a shop. As a rule of thumb, the shorter the lease length, the greater the savings.
What if my employer does not offer the Vapaus Bike Benefit yet?
If your employer hasn’t adopted the Vapaus Bike Benefit program, you unfortunately cannot get a benefit bike until they launch it for employees. However, don’t let this stop you! Do I need to use the bike for commuting?
No. You can use your bike for anything you like, including leisure rides, hobbies, and commuting, but you do not need to ride one meter to or from your workplace unless you want to.
What is a benefit bike?
A benefit bike is a normal bicycle or an e-bike that you acquire through a bike benefit leasing contract. Note that your employer must first offer the bike benefit for you, before you can get a benefit bike.
Why should I get a benefit bike and not just purchase one on my own?
The bike benefit is, above all, a cost-smart way to acquire a high-quality and more valuable bike (such as an e-bike) without a large one-time investment. You can also save hundreds of euros on the purchase price of a bike compared to buying it directly from a shop. In addition, the Vapaus Bike Benefit always includes insurance and flexible terms: you can always switch your bike, redeem it for yourself, or return it if your life situation changes. This benefit is made for everyday life, not just on paper!
What if I leave my job or need to end the lease early?
Life happens – maybe you switch jobs, move abroad, or just decide biking isn’t for you. Vapaus has you covered with flexible early cancellation options.
Every lease comes with cancellation coverage, meaning you can end your contract early or even swap to a different bike if needed for a fixed termination fee. Alternatively, you can transfer your lease to someone else at your company (or to your new employer’s program) if appropriate. You can even decide to buy out your bike at any time during the lease; the buyout price (what’s left to pay) is always visible in your digital Vapaus account, so if you fall in love with your Tenways, you’re free to keep it forever. In any case, you’re not locked in if your situation changes.
What happens at the end of the lease? Can I keep the bike?
Yes! At the end of your 12–36-month term, you choose what happens next. If you’ve fallen in love with your Tenways or whichever bike you chose from the Vapaus catalogue (very likely!), you can buy it outright. The final buyout price is 20%–30% of the bike’s original retail price. Your personal buyout price is always visible in your Vapaus account, so there are no surprises.
Prefer to return it? That’s completely fine too. You can simply hand the bike back to Vapaus free of charge at the end of the agreement. Returned bikes go into Vapaus’s circular economy program (refurbished and given a second life with a new rider), so nothing goes to waste. In short, there’s no pressure to purchase, but the option is there if you’ve fallen in love with your Tenways (which, let’s be honest, you probably will).
